Can you Link (AMA) and Transcode? That's the preferred way to ingest it anyway.

@amitfilm: yes, AMA Link then Transcode.

Ask me about Mimiq and Mimiq Pro!
thanks, this is the first time I use avid, could you let me know how can I link and transcode? I dont know AMA. where can I get help for that? thanks.
Is this from a camera? If so, which one?
Are the MP4 files part of a larger "folder structure?"
Linking (formerly AMA) is a method to link directly to raw video files anywhere on your system. Generally, this is a good way to start. Then, you create new Avid-native MXF media. To do that, you either consolidate the media if it's already in an Avid-native format, or transcode it.
Many formats require the installation of a AMA plug-in in order for Avid to recognize it. That's why I ask the questions above, about what camera it is, and what the folder structure is. That will help determine which plugin you might need, if there even is one. Unfortunately, some formats, such as Sony XAVC-S, do not yet have a AMA plug-in, and therefore require some help from third-party software such as EditReady.
So, once again - please let us know, what camera and format is in use here?
I put the video on my hard disk. but I cannot see my AMA setting and link AMA...
File/Link to Media
Then select your file. It should auto detect MP4 and assign the appropriate plugin. If the link is successful it will allow you to view the material, however you should not attempt to edit with it linked. Immediately transcode to an Avid DNX resolution.
AMA was mentioned because that's what this was called in older versions of software (Avid Media Access). It's just referred to as Link now.
I did that, but why I cannot see the videos?
If you can determine what camera they were created by, it would be helpful to determine what the appropriate AMA plugin to select. You might want to try this in a UHD project instead of an HD project, as well.
We used Sony, uhd? Do you mean 3840 2160 is does not work?

If so it might be a codec not supported by Avid.
Drastic sells a 99 dollars plugin linked below, there should also be a trial

It does work, but you have not yet provided enough information for anybody to tell you definitively whether it will work with your material. Sony makes over half a dozen 4K-capable camcorders that encode the files in a number of different ways.
The more specific you can be, the more useful the answer.
