"RENDER NOT FOUND" when audio source has been mixed down

    Hi

We encounter "RENDER NOT FOUND" error, when we execute Web API call, "checkSequenceIsReadyForXfer" to a scequence which has audio source pre-processed "audio mix down".

We don't get such error if the same audio source has not been processed "audio mix down".

This happens regardless the source format is XDCAM or DNxHD.

    The WebService version is, v.3.0.9.

The detail of the error message is, "RENDER_NOT_FOUND:There were unrendered effects:There are unrendered effects in this sequence."

Could you please advise if this is a software bug, or the operational error ?

    Thanks

    itochu-cable,

Are you doing the audio mixdown in Media Composer? Or via SubmitJobUsingParameters in IPWS?

    itochu-cable,

Does the server running Interplay Web Services have the ISIS workspaces mounted? CheckSequenceIsReadyForXfer() needs access to the workspace where the render is. Maybe your audio mixdown is on a workspace the IPWS host does not have access to?

Also, I am assuming you are editing the mixdown back into the sequence before sending the job, correct?

    Hi,

Yes, the Interplay Web Service server has ISIS workspaces mounted, and the audio mixdown is on a reachable workspace from IPWS host.

Yes, we are editing the mixdown back into the sequence before sending the job.

    regards,

    itochu-cable.

I don't see any general problems with the workflow your're attempting, at least not at a level that can be solved in this forum without looking into the details of your setup. The only aspect I could think of getting in the way here is relinking; as the result of your automated workflow you seem to end up with a sequence that points to media that the system cannot find or does not know about, instead of the mixdown.

Please open a case with Avid and as a first measure, provide the AAFs before and after the audio track has been replaced. Please seek assistance from the Japanese office if you don't know how to do that. Reference this posting if needed.

    Best Regards,

    Andy

    Hi,

We opened a case, No.02899004, and put a download link of the AAF files(before and after) as per your request.

Please note, the download link will expire after Feb. 19th.

    Thank you and best regards,

Re: "RENDER NOT FOUND" when audio source has been mixed down

    itochu-cable,

I looked at the AAFs you provided and the cause is quite obvious: The sequence AAF you are trying to send, '2-45-2 error.aaf', contains a composition (sequence) with audio pan effects and pulldown applied. The CheckSequenceIsReadyForXfer() call should fail on this; the result you're seeing is absolutely consistent with what is expected. Is it maybe that you're attempting to send the orginal timeline instead of the downmix to the further processing steps?

    Rgds,

    Andy

    Hi,

I confirmed .aaf again, but Pan Effects are not included.

In addition, although Avid JP also confirmed, that the effect does not exist.

Whether the effect is included really?

The effect is added automatically when you perform the audio mix down?

    Thank you and best regards,

    itochu-cable,

the sample AAF "2-45-2 error.aaf" provided shows a pan effect on the sequence, see below. You can check out the AAF edit protocol documentation on the AMWA web site for a description of the AAF effect model:

    Hi,

    We have sent two materials.(2-45-2.aaf, 2-45-2 error.aaf)

    2-45-2.aaf has no AudioPan setting,

    2-45-2 error.aaf has AudioPan setting ?

The effect is added automatically when I perform the audio mix down?

    Thank you and best regards,
