Hi,
I am using Compsoer 8.4.2(with newscutter option), BMD Video 10.5.1 on Win 7 HP Z440. When I try to capture video using component into an SD NTSC 4x3(also tried 16x9) project, I can see video just fine. But when I try to capture, I get the error "NO Valid Video Signal Present".
I have no deck control, but i shut off the timecode track in capture. I have triple checked the BMC settings and I indeed have it set to component. I have also tried to use an com cable going to one of the 2 inputs, but they dont really show up in the deck configuration. (Com 3 and Com 4 show up - and I also tried them).
Does anyone know why this lovely DNxIO cant capture. Thanks.
-Steve
Getting the capture tool to work can be a dark art.. I doubt it's anything wrong with your dnxio. Have you selected a tape name? You need to even if there's no deck control, it will warn you about this. De-select the TC track at the top. Also, if you don't have a consistent video sync it won't work either. Where is your video source coming from?
Hi Steve,
This issue should be fixed in an upcoiming version of Media Composer (8.4.3). We expect this to ship within the next week if all goes well.
Best Regards,
Dennis
Does anyone know if this is fixed yet? Still not working for me on 8.4.3 wondering if 8.4.4 has fixed it? (scared to try it while mid project)
MagnusMeerkat:wondering if 8.4.4 has fixed it?
Hi Magnus,
this should be fixed in Media Composer 8.4.3 and 8.4.4.
The DnxIO will show passthrough with ANY format that is coming into the unit (HD, NTSC, UHD, etc). That will show up on the client monitor. If the desktop also shows the video, then the format matches what MC expects. You should be able to capture.
If the desktop does not show the video, then the format into DnxIO does not match the MC format. You will get this same error.
Have you checked your settings in the Desktop Video application?
I'm so sorry Dennis, I just double checked and I'm still running 8.4.2 - I upgraded my other machines but not this one. Just checked and it does indeed work fine now on 8.4.4.M
