We experience the following issue when using a clip being currently ingested into Interplay using AMT & Interplay webservices.

If the clip is put from Interplay windows to a bin in Media Composer while it is still being ingested, it can be played, and the video refreshes while it is written on ISIS storage by the 3rd part solution.

However, we have noticed that the audio is not refreshed, there is no audio with the video after the last chunck written at the moment of the retrieve from Interplay. Then, the video is playable but with no audio. The user needs to update the masterclip from Interplay to get the audio playable.

The main issue is that if in case we perform a send to playback of the clip being ingested, there is also no audio after the last chunck written at the moment of the clip was retrieved from Interplay.

We have noticed that this behavior occurs with 2 different 3rd part solutions.

Interplay Production version is 3.2, MediaComposer is 8.2.4, ISIS 4.7.4

Could anyone help us understanding where this issue comes from ?

I'd say ask your third party suppliers?

EVS have been doing this longer than anybody. When using 'growing' files from an EVS via Interplay I don't have to update the growing file - it is updated automatically. I do see that audio is available after video, but generally it is available a few seconds later. Usually we are able to edit up to 10-15 seconds behind 'live'. Send to playback is not an issue.

I haven't used it for a while, but pretty sure that AirSpeed from Avid worked the same way.

What third party solutions are you using?

I'm working for one of the third parts suppliers (Woody Technologies), which is in charge of file ingest in this configuration.

The other one is Dalet, in charge of Live Ingest.

Unfortunately, there is no Airspeed or EVS available on customer's site, then we can't try with it to see if the same behavior occurs.
