I just recently bought Avid Media Composer and have come across a swarm of technical issues, the most pressing being apocalyptic levels of video delay and glitching within my projects. No matter whether importing video, AMA linking and transcoding (or not transcoding), my video within the program always falls behind the audio significantly, within seconds of pressing play, no matter what I seem to do to try to mend the problem, and glitches when trying to catch up to the corresponding audio. I've confirmed that my original video settings match those of my project settings (especially frame rate), so I don't know what to do.
This problem is only one of many I've come across since purchasing Media Composer two weeks ago, including failure of Avid to provide me with a student verification code to begin the identit-e process, or a working System ID, and issues with iLok installation and activation. Since my System ID is not recognized by the customer support phone line robot, I need help from the community in lieu of professional technical support I cannot currently access (the sales customer support that I have been able to contact isn't being helpful, either). All I want to do is use the program.
I'm very technically deficient, but I do know that I'm running this program on a two-year-old Lenovo y500 with dual nvidia 650M graphics cards and a quad-core processor, so I've ruled out my computer (which runs even more technically draining programs than Media Composer very fluidly) as the issue.
Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks!
To get any usable support from the kind people here, you need to put your full system specs. Next describe the project settings you are attempting to use.
Thanks,
Jef
