Hi
I cannot unzip downloaded file Media_Composer_8_3_0_win_83749. I’m downloading this from my account.
I have downloaded it 4 times, on two different PCs and tried 2 different WinZip versions but the broadband line connection is the same. I’m not trying to install on two PCs, just use them to download. I cannot install because I cannot unzip.
The unzip reports it as missing files and ends as corrupt.
I’m not sure if this is relevant but 7.0.4_win was 2,244,704KB and 8_3_0_win is only 1,894,183KB
I have a slow broadband connection and each download takes nearly 3 hours, so far 12 hours download time and nothing to show for it. I have never experienced this on any downloads before.
Any suggestions please?
Ken
The file size that you posted is the same as the one that I downloaded and unzipped.
I didn't use any unzip software, I just right clicked on the file and selected "Extrach Here" from the menu. Windows can unpack zip files without any other software installed - you only need something extra if you are going to "zip" stuff.

Hi Gerry
Thanks for your reply.
In all, I downloaded 8.3 five times, ether from my Order confirmation email link or from the Download Centre.
After numerous attempts I eventually I managed to get the third download to unzip on my everyday PC.
On my everyday PC windows is the STANDARD version not the PRO version that I have on my editing PC. In the PRO version WinZip is included but in the standard version one has to buy it separately. That is why I have 2 versions of WinZip.
On my editing PRO version trying to unzip froze the process and WinZip was not responding. On my everyday PC it would perform the unzip process, but failed most times and indicating the reasons why.
It is now unzipped and installed. I just hope I do not experience problems when I start using it.
Regards
Hi Ken, just telling about my own workflow here.
Download to my Office PC , OS not important.
Copy the zip over my lan to my editing Pro station , rightclick and select extract and also open extracted folder after extract.
Install from there.

Hi Tomas
That is how I always do it apart from I don’t use the Lan but a USB Stick.
Last night I managed to unzip on my office PC but still could not unzip on my Editing PC.
Today I can unzip on both PCs but I have no idea why it now works and I have performed it twice on both PCs!
Computers can be spooky sometimes Ken, nice to have you up and running now
Next time, try dropping the zip file to the root of the C:\ Drive. sometimes the file path is too long to extract and it gives you an odd error message.
Happy Editing!
Thanks for the suggestion but I did try the "C" drive on both PCs. I'll never know why it did not work the first 15 times!
