    New OS Yosemite

    I downloaded the new OS Yosemite and now my Media Composer won't open...it tells me I need iLok.  What is that?  Why?

    I do not understand the constant tinkering with the OS as far as Apple products go. If you have a well running system leave it be.

    What I don't understand is how often that tinkering breaks otherwise well-performing third party software.  I can't recall ever breaking an application because I updated Windows.

    It could have something to do with the different ways that Apple and Microsoft handle documentation for software developers.
