I have filmes footage on the Blackmagic Cinema camera in Pro Res. The file name for example is.
Blackmagic Cinema Camera_1_2014-03-05_1822_C0000.mov I have imported as AMA the Pro Res clips, then transcoded to dnxhd, completed the edit then linked back to the AMA rushes.
In Avid EDL Manager I got the Sequence, into EDL manager but the filename of the Blackmagic Cinema camera files are to long. I tried the EDL 32 template in EDL Manager and still the file length is cut short.
Does anyone know of a work around? I can make an AAF but Adobe Speedgrade CC does not accept the file format. I was reading they need an EDL to work with.
Thanks,
Leo
Before editorial, a file renaming could have been done. The whole "Blackmagic Cinema Camera_" is 25 characters that add nothing to the workflow or identification of the files themselves. There might be a possibility to truncate from start of file in EDL Manager and let Speedgrade match accordingly, but I am not familiar with Speedgrade's source/EDL management capabilities. AAF does not have that restriction, but seeing as there is no AAF support, that doesn't help in this case.
Hello Job,
Thanks, yes we were not sure about changing the file names with the camera. I will test with a clip rename, and see if I can force a batch import of the clips on the timeline using newly names files. Thanks very much for the suggestion.
