DecompStream: GetFinishedFrame stream 0 corrupt media detected while decoding frame 13437

    Hello,

in my Avid Media Composer 6.0.4 I get this error:

"DecompStream: GetFinishedFrame stream 0 corrupt media detected while decoding frame 13437"

The error comes by transcoding AMA-Files (XDCAM HD 50Mbits (1080i/50) by Sony PMW 200) into DNxHD 185 MXF.

Is somebody known this Error? What is the meaning of this?

I updated the AMA Plugin but the errors is still coming by every file of this camera.

    Thanks for your help:)

    best regards

    Martin

What version of Quicktime do you have installed on your computer ?   Ultimately, it could be a damaged disc.

Thanks for your answer. I updated to QT 7.7.3 and MC 6.0.5 and the problem is still there.

I tried other hard disks and the problem is not going away. This problems are only by the files of the PMW 200 (various SxS Cards). Files of PDW 700 are possible to transcode.

    Has somebody an idea?

    Thanks for your help.

I've seen this when the file is corrupted.  Often at the end of the clip, where a camera has been shut down incorrectly or where the file is spanning on to the next clip.

Can you see anything when you AMA to the file?  Try marking an in and out just a few frames in from the beginning and end of the clip, sub that clip out and try transcoding the new sub-clip.  Does this work? Can you transcode a portion of the clip?  If so, there is a corruption in the clip and you may need to use some other software to fix the clip first.  Sony's XDCAM browser software is good for this.
