    MC 7.0 on new iMac

    Hi everybody.

I need some help. I am about to buy new iMAC and MC7.0 and I have to do it buy the end of the year.

I am not to worried about MC7.0 Mavericks compatibility because I have time to wait for new MC version, what I am worried about is hardware compatibility. As it is not possible to buy Avid certified MC7.O iMac i was wondering will it work on new iMac 3.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, Fusion Drive 3TB, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4 GB GDDR5?

What worries me most are GTX 780M and fusion drive...

    Any thoughts or advice? Please.

I am cutting on that imac now.. Having no issues (running OSX 10.8.4) didn't upgrade to mavricks. Can tell you so far no issues with GTX 780M, however I do not have fusion drive, but heard some mixed things about it. I decided to go all ssd so I can actually get faster read/write speeds with thunderbolt. Got 512 ssd and 6tb thunderbolt raid, and some portable thunderbolt drives.

    Thank you so much Darko.

So you are thinking that if I get 521GB o Flash Storage instead of Fusion rive I should be fine?

Re: MC 7.0 on new iMac

Depends on your needs. I realized with all the software that I use, I don't take up more then 200 gigs on the main drive. So I went with 512 just to be future proof since I can't swap it out. I don't keep any personal pics, music, films on the internal drive.... have 3tb lacie drive that is always connected to imac and all itunes/aperture libraries point to it.  Then got 2 raids for editing. All my personal/work documents are in Dropbox which is syncing to the same drive as iTunes media.. So the only thing on the main drive are apps and avid/fcp project files. It also helps if you need to reinstall OSX.. No need to copy back and forth.. Just make sure it all backed up..

Ssd will give you crazy read write speeds especially if you upgrade to thunderbolt accessories. Fusion will top out at 128 read/write even though for first 15 sec it will max out to 300 depending on the external drive.

like I said depends now you use it and what for.
