Speaking of time, do we have any new, notable news from the ACA? Been about 2 months since NAB.

Good question. The CAC forum on the ACA website has seen some traffic, but mostly by members. Keli's most recent announcement was that there is a new CMO, who would be the main liaison for the CAC. We have not seen this person there yet, probably still starting up in the new position.
The Products and Solutions Council has had one or two conference calls. I haven't been over the meeting minutes for those yet.
Wish I had more to tell.
Thanks Job. It would be nice if they told us all about the CMO. Who is she/he and what type of resume does he/she bring to Avid? Was there a press release on this?
I haven't seen any announcement save for Keli's posting. There might have been a press release, I could have missed it. I know nothing about any of it.

Jennifer Smith is the new CMO.

Avid's AMA for h264 is very poor in terms of performance. Years ago on a much lesser machine I was editing 4 native HDV steams with MC and the performance was exceptional. If all you do is multicam DSLR then MC may not be the best choice without transcoding first.
Since h264 is widespread these days I hope Avid can improve this aspect of MC. Seems that the 32-bit QT engine is the Achilles heal of the product.
I'm not sure this guys assessment is entirely accurate - almost boarders on misleading.
