To everyone.
I was keen, on hearing the news, to make a contribution towards the AVID forum flowers etc, but Im told that actually a donation towards "Animal Allies" is preferred by the family.
Just so anyone else thinking along the same lines knows.
Cheers

Just opened the Community page and saw the banner of Larry. Shock! Larry's posts were my "go-to" when I transitioned from Final Cut to Avid. Without him I wouldn't know which end is up. Not just his answers, but his librarian-like ability to provide a link to just the answer needed. An amazing and giving guy. Gonna seem strange for a while here... Wow.
Sorely missed!

Very sad. Very sad indeed. Thanks for all the help Larry. You'll be missed.
I've not opened Liquid since early 2011. I miss the old girl but life is change.

From the tribute video "...helping anyone, anytime." That sums it up perfectly. Many thanks to Larry and my condolences to his family.
Marianna and Randall: thanks for these warm and impressive words!!
Now, after listening to the tribute, the young age he died, it is even more painfull.
half a world away - missed nonetheless
Thanks very much Marianna for sending the floral arraigment with your warm words.

This is very sad.
I never met him or even spoke to him other than through these forums - but it's amazing at what lengths he would go to help people - people he would never actually meet face to face.
I learned so much from him, thanks Larry.
Sad news to return to after a few weeks not being at the forum. Condolances to his family and friends, which were many, as this thread shows. If anything, the heartfelt reactions here show that all his contrubutions to the forum helped to make it the community it is, with a warm feeling of being amongst friends and family while reading and writing posts.
"Software bugs are impossible to detect by anybody except the end user"
This is extremely sad news, my thoughts are with Larry's family & friends.
The Avid community has lost one of its great contributors along with his deep knowledge of Media Composer.
Thinking back, I would say that at least 90% of the threads I may have read over the last few years on this forum had Larry's input, I know his suggestions helped me a few times.

I've been told by a former colleague at DMA (Towne Group) that services are today in Fallls Church. Does anyone have the details? I would like to go as a representative of all of us Avid Community users who can't pay their last respects today for logistical reasons.
Larry's services will be today 6/7/2013 at 12:30pm King David Memorial Gardens7482 Lee Hwy, Idylwood, VA (703) 560-4400 · (Falls Church

Turn on to Hollywood, and don't go in the main entrance. Take the sixth left at the loop Section 38 as the street starts to curve right.
