    Quadro 2000 vs 4000

My current video card died the other day, at least I think it's my video card. My dual monitors will not display a picture now. The monitors have power, but no imput signal. The builtin fan on the graphics card was not turning, so I'm guessing the card over heated. I have been using a cheap Nvidia graphics card for a while and had always planned to get a spec graphics card to use with Media Composer (now up to version 6 on my system). The Quadro 2000 & 4000 are both expensive, the 4000 is around $750 to $800 whereas the 2000 is around $400, almost half as much. Will the Quadro 2000 be ok for use with MC6?

    Thanks,
    Terry

    Re: Quadro 2000 vs 4000

You should have a look at   http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Compatibility/en422411  and see what card is suggested for your system.  For all it's worth, I got a 2000 on my HP Z420 a few weeks ago and it works very nicely.  My hunch -for all it's worth - and it's only a hunch, I would guess that the 2000 would work.

    Good luck
