I posted about a possibility to get the latest beta driver for Macs a couple of weeks ago Chris, should still be an option and those that have tried seems to be satisfied.

Will try to find it for you in case you missed it .

Re: New Driver Matrox MXO2 for MC6.0.3 and 6.5 is out

I just installed the new driver and had a quick spin. First impressions are good, with some caveats. First the good stuff: having a unified driver for Avid and Adobe apps is obviously great. Performance also seems improved, although not quite as good as running in software only mode.

The bad: the video display is not updated while doing a dual roller trim with JKL unless you disable "dual image play" in Trim settings. If this very useful setting is enabled, the video display will only update when you hit stop. I am pretty sure this worked fine with older versions of the driver.

Also: when you hit stop after playing or trimming, the video display will sometimes snap forward a frame or two, making it hard to use the display for really precise, real-time editing decisions. If you ever used the MXO2 on version 5, the behaviour will be familiar to you. Pretty annoying, but not the end of the world I guess.

Overall, I am very happy with the MXO2 and it's great to get unified drivers, but I am still wondering if I have to invest in a Nitris box to get 100% flawless playback.

(Running on Symphony 6.0.3 but will probably bite the bullet and upgrade to 6.5 now).

For me, it behaves in both modes as well. Not noticed the error.

I have the same experience. Today I had the opportunity to work on Symphony 6.0.3.2 and AJAexpres card and the response was definitely longer than Matrox on my system. (AJA qualified system connected to the Z800).

Although I admit, the comparison is not entirely relevant - different systems, different projects, etc

So I can not advise it, because I to version 6 with Nitris DX or Mojo DX, not to work. Our greatest television, for obvious reasons, MC6 not installed yet.
