De-authorizing, uninstalling Avid FX and Squeeze before upgrade?

I'm on the verge of upgrading from MC 6.0.1.1 to MC 6.5.0.1 and was looking for some advice regarding what I have to deauthorise or uniinstall before I install I install the new Avid MC software. I got into a small problem with Boris CC when upgrading a Symphony system recently so I want to get it correct from the start this time with MC.

I noticed that the Sony AMA plugin says you should uninstall Sony PDZK-MA2 prior to uninstalling Avid but what's the score with Avid FX and Squeeze. I've found an uninstaller for Avid FX, should I run that before deactivating Avid?

I've found that you can deauthorize squeeze from within the app, should i carry that out before deactivating Avid? Or will the codes i'm sent by email after registering the new MC 6.5.0.1 apply to the new software and supercede any previous installs so i don't have to worry.

In the past when moving up to a new Avid version i've always been able to do clean installs onto a fresh drive but as I'm now using SSD on iMacs, I don't have that option this time.

You should deactivate MC before uninstalling, even though you will get a new license code for v6.5.

As for the other apps, unless you are switching CPUs or wiping your drive for a clean install, you don't really need to touch them.  AvidFX should recognize your serial number even if you upgrade to a later version, and Squeeze is updated within the app itself, so de-authorization is rarely necessary.

Thanks for the reassurance Kevin. I'll de-install the Sony AMA plugin as they suggest as I'll be installing the new plug-in for MC 6.5.0.1.

I'll deauthorize and uninstall MC as usual but leave the other two. Half my iMacs are on OS 10.7.3 and half on 10.7.4, do you recommend one over the other?

I shouldn't have any problem moving from OS 10.7.3 to 10.7.4 after I've installed MC 6.5.0.1 or should I upgrade the OS first?

    Thanks

I'd go with the later OS for consistency and I'd update that before installing MC.

The "open programs and windows at startup" bug wasn't resolved until 10.7.4.  I am actually running 10.7.5 right now.
