still getting export troubles on 6.0.3...

    Hi all,

Running Symphony 6.0.3, OS x 10.7.4, Mac Pro 2008, Nitris DX.  Can't export H264 straight from a sequence, have to perform video mix down then output. I've read countless other posts with people complaining about exactly the same issues but no-one has posted a solution and none of the patches have fixed it.  I've had this problem now ever since I upgraded to Symphony 6.0.  I know it's not a huge deal having to mixdown each time, but I never had to do this on previous versions and it does add significant time to the workflow.

Has anyone managed to fix the export problem? Or do I have to pay for upgrade to get it to work!

    Thanks in advance!

There are numerous export issues that still exist in 6.5.... I would not expect that upgrade to fix your issue.  Rendering before export resolves most of mine.

Is this only with 6.5 or is this an issue also with 6.0.3. I seem not to have notice.

    Thanks in advance.

Am I missing something or have months past now and still no fix for this fault.  Surely export is a fundamental feature of a professional editing package, how can avid leave us with these troubles?

    magnus,

Is this a custom export template you're using or a default?  If any of you have export issues using a default export template, try altering one setting, thus making it a custom setting, and seeing if there's any improvement.

Also Import and export problems can happen if the user profile is corrupted.  try creating a new Avid User Profile and do the export again.

Anyone getting split screen Quicktimes instead of a proper image? Same as Source? Haven't had this but upgraded to 6.0.3 because Marquee and Title Tool somehow disappeared in the last week and wouldn't launch...the export same as source in 6.0.1 worked fine.

Rendering out all effects including CC seemed to work.

After I created a new profile, it seems to be ok, has been exporting for a week now without troubles.  Fingers crossed.. Thanks for the advice!

Re: still getting export troubles on 6.0.3...

I spoke too soon with this one, it did seem a bit better to start with, but after a few weeks of working I'm still geting the usual exception errors, especially on older projects with lots of bins and complicated sequences.  I've tried customising the export settings (I do this everytime anyway actually).  If I'm exporting H264 it always has these troubles.  Same-as-source is fine.
