    Editing 1080/50p

Hi all and good night (from Barcelona).

I have recently bought a Panasonic HS900 and would like to edit video shot at 1080/50p.

I am user of Media Composer 4.0.5 and can not find the right option when starting a new project.

Can we edit 1080/50p projects on MC 4.0.5? Or do I have to upgrade ot an earlier version of MC?

Tnanks all in advance and happy editing.

    Jordi Rovira.

Try doing a CTRL+9 then clicking the format tab.

I have the SD900 and Media Composer 5.5 and I'm pretty sure that 1080/50p isn't a supported format.

I believe the AVCHD format is interlaced only for 1080 (720 progressive is valid), so this is not a "valid" format, from other posters the difference between 1080/50p and 1080/50i HA is not noticable to the eye.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the 1080/50p has been added to the AVCHD 2.0 addendum which hopefully means Media Composer may support this format in the future.

    Hola Jordi,

Sorry for you but even MC 5.04 I am working with, cannot handle 1080/50p. I do have the TM900 and with the HD Writer AE 3.0 program that was included by the Panasonic camcorder you can import your files in the AVCHD 50i format and that plays very good. So you can edit all your footage and you will not see any difference between 50i or 50p.
