Since I don't yet have a 3D rig, I decided to find some suitable footage on the net. I was able to extract left and right TIFF sequences to a directory and can bring those into MetaFuze.
I transcoded this to DNxHD 175 1080p 23.976 and also created an .ale file.
The .ale file imported and I was able to successfully relink.
This comes in as SBS. I have a software only version of MC6.
No matter what settings I choose I am only able to see a SBS image. According to the Stereo 3D workflow guide I should be able to see an image as determined by the full screen output settings.
What am I missing?

There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that get binary, and those that don't.
Why not import the 2 tiff sequences and use them to make a stereo clip that is full frame.

So I should not use MetaFuze and instead import the two clips separately into MC, making the stereo clip there?
I'll give that a try.
Bringing in the clips and then creating a 3d clip in media composer worked perfectly.
Thanks!
