Re: Batch Import of AVCHD Fails in MC6

Do they want files to play with? Like examples of files that fail to import, or the media that MC creates and leaves in the Creating directory?

The things that are of most importance from how I see it, is if there are differences between the ama linking and the transcoding of the same clips.

What ama links well should also transcode well, if that isn´t the fact those files might be of interest if they are plain camera files and not manipulated in any way of course.

Re: Batch Import of AVCHD Fails in MC6

The files operate normally in traditional import (as opposed to batch import) and they link and transcode through AMA without a problem. No single AVCHD file has successfully batch imported, though. It seems to be an AVCHD-wide problem, not specific to any file.

Ok everyone, time for some more creative troubleshooting. The import/relink workaround that we established earlier is no longer working, so I can't change the resolution on clips any more. Help!

Has there been any progress on fixing this six-month-old bug?

The import/relink workaround worked for me on one clip, but MC refused to relink on a second clip, so I had to re-edit everything using that clip.  In light of that failure, I can't trust the workaround to help rather than hurt.  So now I will have to finish my project in DNx36.

    Avid, please fix this bug!

Refresh my memory on where to find and download the patch? I have 6.0.1 and batch import still doesn't work; I'm crossing my fingers for 6.0.1.1.

Re: Batch Import of AVCHD Fails in MC6

Thank you everyone for jumping in on this one, and glad to hear that Batch Import is working again in 6.0.1.1 for some of you!

I installed the 6.0.1.1 patch and tried Batch Import on a long (44 minutes) master clip.  The first time, MC crashed toward the end of the task.  The second time, it logged an error message in the console, but I unfortunately lost the message.

I am up to my ears in some projects right now, but I will retest and post the console message when I can take a break.  (Probably not this week.)

Meanwhile, has anyone had success in 6.0.1.1 with Batch Import on long clips?

I'll try a long one when I get a chance but honestly I don't have time at the moment. Overnight some night this week, perhaps.
