My inbox at work just got hit with the Avid email of "Save time and 10% on the new Avid Artist | DNxIQ".
Question regarding Sync. On the Nitris DX units we have 2 Sync inputs. In MC we can select Refrence 1 or Refrence 2. This is extremely important in an Online Suite. I should'nt have to explain here the in's and out's of Sync when dealing with 23.98 and 29.97 material and VTR's.
On the current DNxIO (old version) there are also two sync inputs. Thing is... you can only have one working. Yep, can't hook up two sync channels and switch between them in MC. Not good in an Online Suite. Before anyone says it, NO, i am not putting in an A/B switch somewhere to switch Sync channels. There are TWO BNC connections on the back of the box. It should be able to accept two channels of Sync.
SO... does the new "fandangled" DNxIQ work with two channels of Sync connected? 23.98 and 29.97? Can we seamlessly switch between them in the Editor? Refrence 1 and Refrence 2? It worked that way with DX...
...I would hope so, seeing that you state the whole "universal mastering" with Symphony.
If not, anyone have a good deal on some used DX units? In terms of an HD workhorse, the DX is the best. Kinda wish Avid built off of that and not gone the blackmagic route...
Just my thought... waiting for the 8.8.3 update and GPU.
