I need a background for a greenscreen interview of the interior of a home or an office. Does anyone know a good place to find a non-animated digital background?
There are tons of 'em if you just google "video background for green screen." There are also great professional still photos at GettyImages.com and other similar sites.

Call me "old-fashioned", but I would take my digital still camera and look for a home or an office near me and take my own picture.
Then I would follow the instructions in the following tutorial to prepare the background of my choice at exactly the screen size I would require
NB - if the video does not play, please try Firefox!
Taking your own image and using it, means that you will get exactly what you want, framed as you want it.
You could even take different angles, so that if the camera view of your subject changes - you could change to an appropriately framed background.

I completely agree that I should should it myself, but my boss says that we can't shoot and it has to be a video.

That puts a different light on things.
I thought that the "non-animated background" meant a still image would do for the background.

Take a look at Footage Firm website.
Look for the Free Footage section. You only pay the shipping for an entire DVD. I have many of their animated background and music disks and they are very useful.
There is also Video Blocks that looks interesting.

http://www.123rf.com has a big selection of backgrounds and their prices are good. Also check Shutterstock.com
You'll often find the same photo or b.g. on different sites--and often at a much lower price on one than on the other--so it pays to do some searching around.
I have a fantastic editing assistant. He stays by my side when I edit...doesn't talk too much...and thinks I'm a genius! Check him out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQVkYaaPO6g
I don't know if you still need help, but I have a stock footage blog that offers HD clips and looping backgrounds for free (for any purpose). If there is something on the site that you feel would be helpful, you are more than welcome to download and use it. (obviously goes for anyone who reads this as well).
All of the files on the site should be a simple "Right Click, save" with no strings attached.
The address is http://beachfrontprod.blogspot.com
Hope this helps!

Aren't there a load of graphic "backgrounds" in AVID-FX?
For many years I "belonged" (for a fee) to animationfactory.com. I have purchased, from its large inventory of (copyright cleared) HD and SD animations and still selectioins, many useful graphic backgrounds.
Best luck.

Stuart

There are some in Avid FX, but they are probably not enough, or varied enough for users who use backgrounds a lot.
Under Animated gradients - Linear there are 7
Animated Gradients - Radial there are 15
Backgrounds - there are 15
Most of them seem to me to be uninspiring and not so useful.
That is why I occassionaly buy some from Motion Loops.
Here is a free texture library that I came across several years ago. I have found some useful images in it. It is located at Vhttp://textures.forrest.cz/
Hopefully this might help someone along the way!
