The Definitive List of Eleven Rack Tracks

Only published comments... May 18 2011, 12:12 AM by Chris Townsend

Over the past year and half or so that Eleven Rack has been out, I've heard plenty of amazing guitar tracks done totally "in the box" by our users.  I figure it's about time we compiled a list of some of these excellent Eleven Rack tracks.  While I'd like this list to be definitive, I imagine there's plenty I've never heard, and more is created every day, but at least this will be a good start.  If you're considering buying an Eleven Rack this is a great place to hear for yourself what it's capable of.  I hope to keep adding stuff to the list, so if you come across anything noteworthy which is missing, please let me know (a post to the Avid User Conference in the All Things Guitar section should suffice).

Special recognition should go to a few users in particular who are phenomenal players and really show off Eleven Rack to its potential.   Fil Oliveri, also known as SoloDallas (, can get the best AC/DC tone of anyone I’ve ever heard.  So much so that you might even swear you are listening to Angus and Malcom.  If you're interested in how to get that kind of tone yourself, his site is full of great tips.

Tristan Klein ( can go from soulful to shred in an instant and then back again.  He’s recently released a new album, which was done entirely with Eleven Rack.

Adam Quek can play hard rock and metal as good as anybody I know, and his tone just blows me away.  His covers of Weezer’s Say It Ain’t So, Megadeth’s Torando of Souls, and Metallica’s Orion are great examples.

VaiSatchAttrucci, as he’s mostly commonly known, can go from SRV to Pink Floyd to Metallica without even breaking a sweat and do it so beautifully and convincingly.  On YouTube VaiSatchAttrucci is probably best known for his video where he compares the Eleven Rack Treadplate model to his Mesa Road King.  The results are pretty stunning.

There are so many more people I could mention, but I’d at least like to give a quick thanks to Djemass, Ratter, X-Mann, Mike Font, Cline’s Mind, FenderProBrazil, Dingle, and David Wallimann.

Keep in mind that, although I’m trying to keep this list up to date, I’m sure some of these links will get broken with time.  Nonetheless, hopefully there is enough material here to give you plenty to listen to, even if a few links are dead.  Also, all of these sources have some degree of audio data compression, which doesn’t always sound so great.  I tried to pick clips where this isn’t a major issue, but it definitely can be noticeable.  On YouTube in particular, I recommend you select 720p resolution, if available, for the best audio quality.

About Chris Townsend

I am the Lead Guitar Products Architect at Avid.  I created most of the amp and FX algorithms in Eleven Rack and the Eleven Plug-In.  On a typical day I can be found coding algorithms while simultaneously strumming the guitar.  My wife discovered I was a true engineering geek when she saw I was reading Inside the Vacuum Tube while on vacation.
