After receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, John Lafauce moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the movie industry. His first break on a feature film came in 1994 when Dream Quest Images hired him to rotoscope nature effects for "The Mask" starring Jim Carrey. Shortly after that initiation, he moved up the visual effects ranks to compositing where his clients included: Sony Pictures Imageworks, Rhythm and Hues, Pacific Title Digital, and Cinesite (Kodak) to name a few. Highlights of his numerous credits are: "Stuart Little 2", "Godzilla", "Dr. Dolittle", "Executive Decision", "Turbulence", "Heat", and "Titanic".
 
More recently, John relocated back to Massachusetts and was hired at Boris FX where he applied his knowledge of digital effects and compositing to the development of NLE software plug-ins end users could really identify with. In his three years at Boris FX, he functioned as a Software Quality Assurance specialist and was eventually given the opportunity to Product Manage Final Effects Complete (FEC) visual effects plug-ins for Avid, Adobe, Autodesk, and Apple host applications. His specialties include: Product design, compositing and effects workflows, online training, technical writing, customer support, SQA / beta testing, and product marketing.
 
He currently works in Avid Customer Success as a Media Composer Technical Support Representative.
