  • Re: More P2 questions

They're shooting to an external P2 recorder (i believe) so i assumed that the footage would be .mxf using the avc intra codec, if not it sounds like they're gonna have a tough job cutting it! So basically if in the cutting room they copy/transcode the footage into their adrenaline (at SD compression...

Hello there, and thank you for your help, I'm using metafuze on my PC 8core whith the good spec for the machine and RED ONE camera rushes, and with an official avid version. I just wonder WHEN this Metafuze 1.3 or Metafuze 2 will show up and be released. I noticed several huge problems using it,...

  • The SubCap Generator - Exporting a subcap to AvidDVD

Having succeeded in entering Japanese text into the SubCap Generator, I began to wonder if I could export it easily and then import it into AvidDVD. That was not as easy as I had hoped for. However I did find a way to do it in the end. The method will work for subcaps in any language. Regards, Douglas

  • From MC through AvidDVD (DVDitProHD)

There is an ongoing debate as to whether it is wiser to use a 3rd. party software to prepare files before importing them into AvidDVD (DVDitProHD) or not. I prefer the direct to AvidDVD (DVDitProHD) approach and explain why in this short presentation. Regards Douglas

  • Want a Liquid style timeline? Maybe yes...maybe no!

I am now working my way through a second series of tutorials. Although they are aimed at migrants from Liquid, it is possible that some of the contents can be helpful to others beginning with Media Composer. This Tutorial deals with a rather strange topic! If you ever get into a discussion with a Liquid...

  • Final Cut Pro vs. Avid - An Ode to the Moviola @ HDFilmtools

Hi All, I've just posted the first of a series of articles I'm doing on why Media Composer continues to be the editing tool of choice for 99% of all professional film editors in Hollywood. I hope you will have a chance to take a look at it and as always, I encourage this community's feedback...

  • An Effective Way Of Syncing...

Hello, could any body describe me the function of "Autosequence"? I've never used it before but it seems to generate a Sequence from Audio and Video if they have same TC? What is this for? I've did a short test and it appears that this function relys only on the embeded (capured) StartingTC...
