The SubCap Generator - Exporting a subcap to AvidDVD

Having succeeded in entering Japanese text into the SubCap Generator, I began to wonder if I could export it easily and then import it into AvidDVD. That was not as easy as I had hoped for. However I did find a way to do it in the end. The method will work for subcaps in any language. Regards, Douglas

MC direct to AvidDVD (DVDitProHD) or through a 3rd party Encoder?

There is an ongoing debate as to whether it is wiser to use a 3rd. party software to prepare files before importing them into AvidDVD (DVDitProHD) or not. I prefer the direct to AvidDVD (DVDitProHD) approach and explain why in this short presentation. Regards Douglas

Using Paint Effect to create a simple Vignette

Inspired by an idea from an Avid editor friend! The Vignette effect shown here is very simple to apply - but it can be the base from which your own imagination and creativity can produce an infinte number of special Vignettes. Regards, Douglas

Creating a "Freeze-Frame"

Easy to do when you know how, but sometimes difficult for a newcomer to figure out! NB. When actually in the "Freeze-frame" pulldown menu, there are many more choices than I mention in this tutorial. For example you can choose "others" and specify an exact length for the created Freeze...
