can't import mpeg

hi i have: a dell inspiron 1520 laptop with vista premium. 2 Gb ram. Avid Xpress Pro 5.8 i can import mp4 files but can't import mpeg1 or mpeg2 do you know why?

export to jpeg2000 mxf for DCI for DOREMI player

Does anyone know a software way of exporting from AVID and creating a file that can play on a DOREMI DCP2000 cinema player on either a JPEG 2000 MXF format or MPEG2 MXF interop? It seems hardware encoding is the only way but it seems to defeat part of the purpose of these great projection systems if...

Hola, soy novata y estoy un poco perdida. Tengo el Avid Xpress DV y estoy creando un pequeño trabajo, pero ahora quiero exportarlo para hacer un DVD, todo lo que intento se ve bastante mal de calidad, he leido q lo mas conveniente es el mpeg2, xo no entiendo xq en las opciones de exportación no me aparece...
