• MC 6.0 export XDCAM EX Material (Long-GOP) with QT-Ref

Hi there, my usual workflow with my HD 1920x1080/25p footage (from a Sony EX1 cam) is to import it with the XDCAM EX Clip Browser, rewrap the XDCAM EX footage into MXF and create a AAF-File and relink it in MC 6.0. After i edit the footage, i do an mixdown in DNxHD 185X and make an Quicktime Reference...
What do you see as a solution?
Hello Jeroen, are you trying to put me on the spot? Hehehehehe. A summary of my own personal place in this is as follows. I have never had any issue doing mixdowns of HDV Long GOP sequences, then exporting QT reference files. Because...

  • Re: Long GOP problem

Hi! I had similar problem on Media composer 4.05, but not with multicamera sequence, just plain editing all the way My material is also 1080/25p on Sony EX3, linked with AMA and edited to sequence. After transcoding the sequence to DNxHD 120 I couldn't make Qt Reference from that. After looking,...

  • Re: XDCAM Workflow

Another thing I'd like to figure out is exporting faster from Avid. I have to post a lot of rough cuts on the internet, or make DVDs for transcribers, etc. These XDCAM features are unbelievable breakthroughs for importing and distributing media, but are there any similar breakthroughs for exporting...

  • Expanding Library of Media Composer Tutorials

I am a relative newcomer to Media Composer (early 2008) and as I began to feel my way around I got the idea of documenting my adventures by creating short video tutorials, Avid had already a large number of excellent, professionally produced tutorials online. I learned very much from watching them. However...

  • Pseudo Timelapse

The long GOP structure of HDV make life difficult if you want to create a timelapse video. The workaround I use is done by taking a video of the complete event then use the Motion Effect Editor to create the effect by timewarping. Regards, Douglas
