Not sure what is going on here. Can you try using a different Firewire cable? It could be as simple as a bad cable I guess? Never seen that error before.

Your help would be greatly appreicated. I have been through this problem before...i recently reinstalled xpress pro and my capture tool does not recognize my firewire cards...i did try deck config., but it does not see the "firewire on OHCI" channel...also tried unistalling the firewire cards...

I am trying to capture DV or HDV from a Sony camera via the Firewire 800 input on my iMac, but Avid M C can't see the divice or any ports. The system can see the camera as it is possible to capture in iMovie. Any ideas ?

I am using MC3.1.3 with a relatively new system - Vista business 64bit. Previously using xp pro 32bit with avid 3.1.2 same system and the canopus 300 as a stand alone unit. (without problem) Problem is since upgrading to vista6bit and 3.1.3 at the same time. My canopus ADVC product is not recognised...
