Not sure what is going on here. Can you try using a different Firewire cable? It could be as simple as a bad cable I guess? Never seen that error before.

Nate, I'm doing a HDV project on a Sony deck, Firewire in etc. I was told by my tech rep that certain decks will not read accurate Time code in DV mode and will cause errors. On another job we tried using a JVC deck(didn't work with Avid) and a Panasonic Deck. We ended up using comp out on the...
Can we, for the record state the fact that the uninstaller doesn't remove your project files? Just so that's on here for when people search. ;)
Yes-Project folders are not removed when Avid program is unistalled. I've done it a 100 times. But...

Is anyone using the MojoDX with MBP? Considering one for my MBP and just wondering how it performs? Is HD possible with it. The specs seem to indicated HD will not work with MBP using the MojoDX. Any feedback is welcomed. Thanks in Advance! Bill

Dont' count Avid out yet Overview Avid is announcing support for the recently released Apple Mac Pro computers based on the Intel® Xeon® ‘Nehalem’ processor. Avid will support two models of the new Mac Pro, with different processor speeds. The qualified configurations are listed...

I'm not an Avid engineer type, (guess they are all still at NAB :). Anyway my understanding is that with 3.5 you are not working in the old avid codec with the DX or Nitras. It will be uncompressed (or un-converteded HD) like the Nitras. But you must use MC 3.5. MC 3.5 does all the work, and yes...
