  • Export 16:9 720x480 footage to a 16:9 DVD in Avid DVD?

Seems simple enough. Ive exported the 2 minute timeline and it plays 16:9 in Quicktime, but Avid DVD only reads it as 4:3. I switched the video option to 16:9 and all that did was add black bars on the side. It also seems to play as 4:3 in VLC media Player. One unique thing is that the video button on...

  • Exporting Chapter Marks to AvidDVD

Hi, I really want to know how to export chapter marks from Avid's timeline. I know that you can do this inside the DVD app., but I still find this really useful when working with a long form project and you need accurate marking. We're currently working on a two-hour seminar DVD and the marks...

  • Avid won´t open, asks for disk

This is just odd. . . I went to open avid media composer 3.0 yesterday and the computer gave me a message saying: The computer needs to configure avid. Then a window pops up saying: The feature you are trying to use is not available, please insert CD rom. When I went to the C:\Archivos de programa\Avid...

  • Re: Native support for AVCHD

I have a Canon HF10 and shoot primarily in EXP mode (17Mbps) combined with cinema mode (24p). Here is my AVCHD workflow: I use CineForm Neo Scene (Quality=Medium, Ouput frame format=Convert to 24p) to convert the .mts file to .avi 1920x1080 24p (full raster) in 4:2:2 color space. (4:2:2 makes pulling...

  • AVID DVD PROJECTS WON'T OPEN

Hi On a couple of ocasions I've created DVD projects and when opening them on another ocasion they have failed to open and Avid DVD just creates a new untitled project. This is beyond frustrating as it is rendering the software worthless as projects are too complex to lose or start from scratch each...

  • From MC to AvidDVD - A look at the settings!

In recent months the interest in using AvidDVD to author and produce both DVDs and Blu-Rays has grown quickly. Unfortunately the jungle of advice being thrown at newcomers seem to have confused them more than helped them. I did a test of 8 different settings and present my own conclusions in this tutorial...

  • Re: Version of DVDit with MC 2.8?

Jrlcopy, I think that you are close to the mark there. I have used both DVDitProHD and AvidDVD, and I have noticed that there seems to be little relationship between the 6.0, 6.x numbers of those products. The latest versions (6.4) have the ability to write Double layer Blu-Ray discs. However they have...

  • The SubCap Generator - Exporting a subcap to AvidDVD

Having succeeded in entering Japanese text into the SubCap Generator, I began to wonder if I could export it easily and then import it into AvidDVD. That was not as easy as I had hoped for. However I did find a way to do it in the end. The method will work for subcaps in any language. Regards, Douglas

After searching for a long time (3years) I finally found a way to make great dvd,s that work & look great on TV, plasma, LCD and projectors! Throw away sonic and squeeze (if you used it to make a DVD) they don't do a good job and squeeze has got a lame mpeg2 codec. This is what I did; export...
