  • Expanding Library of Media Composer Tutorials

I am a relative newcomer to Media Composer (early 2008) and as I began to feel my way around I got the idea of documenting my adventures by creating short video tutorials, Avid had already a large number of excellent, professionally produced tutorials online. However, once I started to understand it I could see that it gave better control and probably better sharpness and a smoother pan than the Avid filter. Luckily both of them reside in the Effects Palette...

  • Clips on Timeline - Information Customisation

Being able to see various pieces of information in your clips on the timeline can be very useful. How to switch this information on or off is not always apparent to newcomers. Here we get the help of some fast food as I show you the basic controls needed to switch on or off the information. Regards,...

  • Change a Clip's Thumbnail

MC automatically chooses the first frame of a clip as the thumbnail. This is not always the best image to help identify the contents of a clip. Here is the easy way of changing the thumbnail to another image from the clip. Regards, Douglas
