  • 4 Simple Steps from HD to an SD DVD

Not everyone wants to author a fully featured DVD with chapter points. menues. subtitles etc. Sometimes all that is required is a quick output of a sequence in MC to a DVD with nothing added. Here is one workflow which is simple and requires only 4 easy steps. Good luck! Regards, Douglas

  • Expanding Library of Media Composer Tutorials

I am a relative newcomer to Media Composer (early 2008) and as I began to feel my way around I got the idea of documenting my adventures by creating short video tutorials, Avid had already a large number of excellent, professionally produced tutorials online. I learned very much from watching them. However...

  • Pseudo Timelapse

The long GOP structure of HDV make life difficult if you want to create a timelapse video. The workaround I use is done by taking a video of the complete event then use the Motion Effect Editor to create the effect by timewarping. Regards, Douglas

  • HDV's long GOP & QT-reference export

Long GOP Problem This is a rehash of one of my early tutorials. The problem with HDV's long GOP when exporting a QT reference file keeps popping up on the Forums, so I thought I would add this to my video tutorials directly. Regards, Douglas

  • Capturing using HDV Camera

Hi all, I purchased Avid Media Composer in November and set it up to digitize footage from my Canon XH A1 Camcorder. • Canon XLH1 input and time code problems

I am currently editing on MC Adrenaline 2.8, HP xw2800 and am trying to digitize HD footage from a Canon XLH1 camera. When I use the 1080i/59.94 HDV project format - computer firewire 1394 method, Avid is able to control the camera: Stop,Play, Fwd, Rew, etc,, but lists "no input signal present."...

  • Adrenaline HDV support

I have done research on the boards here and see that the Adrenaline box does not support capturing HDV through it's onboard 1394 port and that you have to use a dedicated port on the computer instead but that it might be supported in the future. The thread I found that stated that was from around...

Hello everyone: I have done some research about this problem but I haven“t found any reference to it in the forums. I am running MC on a laptop for quite a while, for the first time I am working on a HDV project. I had some problems with deck control while capturing the media but playback was...
