  • Importing SFX Library

My editor wants me to import her entire sfx library as they are organized on her drive. There are many folders and subfolders, and really long track names which the Avid can't import without me having to shorten the descriptions. I'm wondering if there's a quicker way to do this, rather than...

  • Error importing .wav files

I have already come up with a work around for this, but I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing the same problem. I am importing .wav files of voice over into Media Composer. Individually they come in fine, but when I bring them in as a batch only the first take of each clip comes in. We...

  • Meta Data not importing

Our show records drive audio and they come to me as .WAV files. The mixer assigns tracks to each channel and gives them a name. However, when I import it into avid, i loose all track names. I get them back when I import at Drop frame, but then I loose all TC information and track assignments. I am working...

  • Decompose/Consolidate with batch Import

This is probably a pretty basic question but I'll ask it anyway. I understand that decompose takes all the clips in a sequence, makes new master clips for each of them, relinks the sequence to those new, offline master clips and then you're basically supposed to recapture the media and then you...

  • P2 files offline after Avid reboots

I'm having difficulty understanding how AVID treats P2 media. I can import "P2 Clips to bin" with no problem from a folder on my computer (eg. e:\Video Project X\P2 Card 1\) and the files come in great. But when I shut down AVID and re start it, all the files are "Offline" and...

  • Import OMF from Pro Tools

I'm working with a project that has been sweetened in Pro Tools. I now have both an AAF export and an OMF export with associated wav files. To my knowledge, these projects have been exported from Pro Tools correctly. I have read that the correct way to import an OMF project is to import the .omf...

  • Re: Best format for importing M2T files

Strange, noone mentioned here that you can import M2T files as "native", meaning no decoding - encoding will occur. Avid can edit MPEGs from camera directly. It only rewraps them to MXF format and the so called "quickimport" is really quick. PP
