  • Exporting Highest Quality?

Folks: I’ve been struggling with finding ways to finalize projects so they can be burned to DVD or BluRay at the highest quality. To date I *had* been able to export longish projects (20+ minutes) as Uncompressed Quicktimes and then burn them to whatever format I needed – but lately I get...

  • DVD rip updated recommendations

What is the best way to rip a DVD for import to Avid (we don’t have access to direct capture)? Is there a better way than MPEG Streamclip or Cinematize, or are they still the best way to go? Any recommendations for project settings and for codec to rip to that will generate a high quality quicktime...

  • Exporting for DVD

Hello- I am trying to export a multicam sequence for DVD. The basics are these: A multicam edit in a 1080i/59.94 project. Obviously I need to get into SD for the DVD. But there are so many ways, and I've tried a lot of them. None have worked thus far. I want to burn in Roxio Toast. I can get a file...

  • Sonic Blu-ray Naming

I'm creating a Blu-ray using Avid DVD by Sonic 6.1.1, and find it names the disc to 'Sonic Solutions' (the volume name thatappears in Windows Explorer). There is no option to turn this off, or customize it. The manual says you choose this at the start, but I did not choose 'Sonic Solutions'...

  • Importing NTSC DVD into PAL project - best method?

I'm editing a PAL project (1080/25P) on MC v7 and using some clips ripped from commercial DVDs (NTSC 29.97fps). This is the workflow I assumed would be best: 1. Rip and transcode NTSC DVDs using Mpegstreamclip to Quicktimes using a high quality SD codec. (I used Avid 1:1. I did not de-interlace the...

  • Best quality DVD from MC ?

I need some advice on getting the best quality DVD from MC 5.5, Windows platform, 23 minute sequence. I have tried QT Reference, QT Movie, Sorenson 9 and all look pretty crappy compared to the original SD MiniDV footage I have brought into MC. Best so far was using Sorenson preset for DVD using 2 pass...

  • Re: Avid DVD problem, need some help

Same here, if I used AMA of AVCHD footage and didn't transcode, I can't make a QT Reference file, instead I make full sized QT and burn DVD or BR from that file. Takes more time but with A+ results.

  • Re: Relinking missing audio captured from DVD

It was directly into MC using the Analog Mojo, Randall. The output is from a Blu-ray player (SD DVD) through the component output of the player. It was quite a few months ago that I did the capture and from what I can tell, I set the capture duration, started the capture and hit play on the DVD player...
