When I go to transcode an HDV clip, my only trancode option is DNxHD-TR 145. I don't have the option of 220, 220x, Dvcam, or SD. Why don't I have the other options? I'm using Media Composer 2.8.

Hi kmac I've been doing a few EX1 projects recently but I've been editing at full res all the way through. However we have a feature coming up shortly and my plan is to simply Transcode everthing from the EX1 to DNxHD 175X, transcode to DNxHD36 and edit with that. When it comes to online I'll...

I have some footage I am trying to transcode from Apple Pro Res to DNxHD. However, the resulting QT is significantly brighter than the original ProRes QT, and loses all of its contrast. I have tried toggling the settings, including changing 601 to RGB, "millions of colors" to "millions...

So as to prevent a previous thread not only being hijacked, but forced to eventually land with grissly results... I've started this new thread to objectively discuss and explore DNxHD encoding via 3rd-party software, namely: ffmpeg . For those not 'in the know', ffmpeg is a command-line tool...

I've read many threads and am still confused of what I should do as a workflow for this project!!! I would very much appreciate any recommendations of what you think I should do with this: I have 50 hours of HDV video that I would like to capture and start hacking away at in order to cut down to...

Hey Everyone. We are currently in a telecine of some 16mm film which is about to be transfered to SD tape and HD files. Our problem is deciding what is the best codec or file type to get our HD footage transfered to. We do not have a HD tape machine so having files is the best for us. We have done a...

I have a Sony HVR-A1U HDV camera that I shot 80 hours of footage in HDV 1080i. Is it best that I change the FORMAT setting in Avid to capture it in 1080i/59.94 HDV to capture in the finest quality? And which is the appropriate AUDIO FILE FORMAT: AIFF-C (OMF), or WAVE (OMF), or PCM (MXF)? Then should...

I think the process would be to batch-convert all your footage from the Firestore (ie, remove the pulldown) using MXFX. Then import all this converted footage into the Avid in a 23.976 project. I would recommend doing a transcode to an Avid DNxHD codec such as DNxHD 60 for a 720p project type. Then edit...

I think one of the things you have to keep in mind is that it's not just software or just hardware. It's the total value you get from the solution. At $9995 Mojo DX is expensive, but back in January you were paying $4,995 for just the software plus $2,495 for the SD MOJOSDI. With bundle discounts...

I am just about to start cutting a film on an Adrenaline HD system in DNxHD36 with a PC system and have found out that my supplier can get me an editshare for hire for a relatively cheap price. Now with the shared storage option I am looking at adding an additional edit station using my own personal...
