AVCHD import capability

I for one, and I have seen similar posts to the same effect, could REALLY use AVCHD import capability in MC. Even a secondary program (cost $200 or less) that would import AVCHD into a format that MC could use would be great. I realize that there are programs out there that do conversion, but an AVID...
