  • Re: Metafuse and 29.97

Your sync drift happens because your audio has pulldown and the picture does not because you're in true 24 fps.

  • Sony HDV 1080i 24p Support

I'm considering purchasing Media Composer, but I'm not exactly clear to what extent Avid supports Sony's pull-down encoded progressive HDV. I use Sony HVR-V1U cameras to shoot 1080i 24A (24pSCNA) footage. Basically it's progressive 23.976p footage encoded in a 1080i stream using interlaced...

  • 24p to 29.97 Help

I am very new to working with 24p projects and I need some help or clarification. We recently shot a project at 24p. The final output is going to be to BetaCam SP (29.97 fps.) If I just import the 24p footage into a 29.97 project will Avid convert the footage automatically or is there another step I...

  • 60p conform to 24p for "overcranking"

I am shooting on my new cannon 7d. I see lots of guys using Final Cut and Cinema Tools to take footage shot in 720/60p and then convert or conform to 720/24p and get s clean and crisp overcranking slo motion effect. Any Ideas? Ryan

  • My JVC GY HD110U Experience -- Good

Okay, so after the camera's been on the market for several years, I finally have my first JVC ProHD 24p project. The footage was shot on an GY HD100U camera, and I'm using a borrowed BR-HD50U deck for capture. At first I couldn't get MC to recognize the deck at all via 1394a. I tried connecting...

  • Re: Please Help, getting none from the 24p section

Are you cutting a film-based project, or an HD video project? If it's HD, then you should set your project up to 23.976 and then you won't have to worry about pulldown. If it's film, pulldown refers the fact that the film which was shot at a TRUE 24fps has been transfered to video at 23.976fps...

  • JVC GY-HD110U 24p Capture Issues

I recently purchased a copy of Media Composer 3.0. I cannot capture 24p footage from my JVC GY-HD110u into Avid. Does anyone have a solution? I can see from other posts that this was still a problem last year, but I remain unsuccessful and was wondering if there was a new solution. Any help at all would...

  • Re: capture tool disabled (greyed out) in menu

I just had this problem where my Capture tool was disabled / grayed out and I was going out of my mind and could not figure out why. I don't think it's emphasized enough that all you need to do is start the project NOT in 24p... (unless it could be something else, but it seems that this is the...

  • New film project setup - 24p or 23.976?

Hi there. I'm just starting a new film project in London and it will be the first time that I will ingest HD-CAM Rushes. In researchig the route I've come across a debate that is causing me some headaches and wondered if anyone who has experience of a Film-HDrushes project working in PAL land...
