I am typically an FCP editor but the last few weeks I have been working on a project in AVID and now it's time to export. For this project, I have to edit down a long list of shows into 4-5 minute clips, and then export those clips back to tape.

So my workflow in both programs was the same. Each show gets its own sequence. Now in FCP I would put the sequences down in an sequence labeled output, which would make the media more manage than copying and pasting all my tracks and audio, etc.

Is there a way to turn my sequences into MXF clips within AVID MC, and then lay them down into a sequence?

Bin with sequences won't open

We have two Avid MC Adrenalines here that both feed projects & media off of a Terrablock RAID. Last week I had to reformat one of the Avids. Everything works fine except that it now won't open larger bins... mainly ones that contain sequences... especially in HD. Smaller bins open just fine.

I just remembered my Install3GB.exe file and ran that & restarted, but no joy. MC just locks on the "Opening blah blah blah bin" window and I have to log off to get out. Task manager won't even stop MC from running.

Funny thing is... the other Avid here can open that same project without any trouble. So it's something with the newly reformatted system. I'm running an older version... 2.8.3. Can't think of anything I've missed, but maybe some of you might know something.

Ideas? Thanks in advance.

All these takes are made from subclips.

I want to subclip these clips of again, but only taking the one video track and two audio tracks with me.

Is ther any way of keeping the original name of the subclips within this seqence, or will it always name the new clip "SequenceName.Sub.01"? Or is there anither way around it? I don't want to have to rename all my new subclips again.

Thanks.

The use of keyboard shortcuts combined with the possibility of mapping your own keyboard to suit your workflow gives you the possibility of making MC a very quick, efficient and accurate NLE.

I used Avid Liquid previously and I used the Drag & Drop method, as it seemed very convenient.
Avid Liquid has also the possibility of mapping the keyboard and using keyboard shortcuts..... but, because of the convenience of Drag & Drop editing, many people (myself

included) prefer/preferred to use it instead.
With MC the opposite is true. Drag & Drop is not the easiest way!
