Intraframe editing really has a million-and-one uses! Check this one out as we enhance a scene using clone, erase and lighten objects creating a second distant island in the background. This was shot on location at North Head near Devonport which is located on the north shore of Auckland harbour, New Zealand.

Although Avid Title Tool and Avid Marquee are capable of handling most types of Text effects, it can be nice to find a quick way of using a Title template to do some more advanced effect.

AvidFX has a very powerful Title tool under the bonnet.

Global Audio Adjustment

Not the only way to do it.
But here is one way that I have found that makes sense to me.
Also included is a little tip on resetting the Volume Slider to zero.

Preparing & Importing an Image with and Alpha Channel into MC

One area I have never felt at home with is the preparation of an image with an alpha channel in Photoshop and the subsequent use of it in MC.
I eventually succeeded in doing this and felt that a tutorial might help others who have not yet ventured into this area.

Add your own Transitions to the "Quick Transition" Menu

I'd like to thank Pixel Monkey for starting a very interesting thread in Avid's Tips & Tutorials area.
His first post gave me the inspiration for this Tutorial.

The "Quick Transition" Menu has a choice of: Disslove, Film Dissolve, Film Fade, Fade to Colour, Fade from Colour and Dip to Colour transitions.
The Tutorial explains how you can add your own creations to the drop down menu in the "Quick Transform" dialogue box.
The basic concept opens up numerous possibilities that could help you speed things up a bit when you are using your "favourite" transition creations.

No Visible Waveform or Audio Level Plot

When I started using MC, setting the visible waveform was one of the first things I did when I began to work on my audio tracks.
Some weeks later I was unable to see the waveforms.
No matter how much I clicked on the hamburger and changed the settings, I just could not see the waveform anymore.
The following Tutorial shows you how.
Also included is a little tip about the visibility of the Audio Level Plot.
