The "Quick Transition" Menu has a choice of: Disslove, Film Dissolve, Film Fade, Fade to Colour, Fade from Colour and Dip to Colour transitions.
The Tutorial explains how you can add your own creations to the drop down menu in the "Quick Transform" dialogue box.
The basic concept opens up numerous possibilities that could help you speed things up a bit when you are using your "favourite" transition creations.

Encoding

Getting from the MC timeline onto the Web causes lots of confusion.
Mainly because of the many variations in video formats and codecs.
There is no way that a set of 3 tutorials could cover all possibilities.

Taking the simple approach I will show you my workflow and then leave it up to you to discover if and how you can use any of my ideas in developing your own workflow.

The second tutorial describes one way of encoding your material to a flash (flv) file and wrapping it in a "skin".

I use a programme from On2 Technologies by the name of FlixPro. (I believe that a simpler version of the programme - Flix - can achieve the same results as FlixPro in my tutorial).
Using FlixPro cuts out the need to use a 3rd party encoder such as Procoder or Sorenson Squeeze.

Good luck!

Douglas

PS. The final result can be viewed on internet at:

This Tutorial is longer than I usually produce. This is due to the fact that I want to show a few of the pitfalls that I met when trying to learn this technique.

The actual Pan & Zoom part is covered by a very informative Avid Xpress Pro product quick tour video. It can be found at: http://community.avid.com/media/p/367296.aspx
