I, too, am having problems with getting Japanese into the marquee tool, but it's only one character (as far as I know) that won't copy over. It's the character that looks like a dash and has unicode 30FC. It's called "Katakana-Hiragana Prolonged Sound Mark." I talked to avid tech support and it sounded like they knew about this problem but if anyone knows anything more than that, please let me know.

Making Changes to a Marquee Title

Hi guys,

I've really enjoyed the Marguee video tutorial, but here's the issue: how do I make changes to a title and Save to Bin? I make changes to a title and the Save to Bin option is greyed out, and I can't get my changes back into MC. This is DRIVING ME CRAZY! What step am I missing that will allow me to make changes to a title and save it to a bin in Media Composer so I can actually cut that changed title into my timeline? THANK YOU!

Marquee Tool Transition on and off

I'm just starting to learn about the marquee tool. It seems very expansive which is great but as far as I can tell, one thing is missing. Does it have the capability to animate the text on and off in a fancy way, other then changing the opacity? I know programs like After Effects have lots of preset animations than you can add but I can't find options like that for the Marque tool.

Any help would be appreciated.

EDITING ROLLING TITLE IN MARQUEE

How the Hey do I resave to a bin a rolling title I created in Marquee, went back in to edit it, and now cannot get the option to SAVE TO BIN to activate? What do you have to do to be able to make changes to credits and then resave them to a bin so you can actually cut them into the timeline?

These sort of mundane issues were completely ignored in the otherwise good Marquee tutorial.

Any help? Please.

Can't rename the Text Objects in Marquee

I am trying to rename the text box in Marquee but it doesn't function. It seems like to be ready for editing but it isn't possible to type on it. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to insert text in Media Composer without using the title tool or Marquee. I'm trying to decide the easiest way for a beginner to make credits, lower thirds, etc.

When I import titles from Marquee they appear blurry. What can I do to fix that?

Marquee: title only visible while playing

when I open a Marquee title it shows up as black.

Only if I play the title I can see it as usual.

This appears in both, source and record monitor.

Last week marquee worked fine with the same drivers etc.

I tried a search but without success.

Marquee replacing font without giving any other option

I have a project I'm transferring from a PC on Version 3.1 to my new MAC version 3.5. As I started recreating the titles- Marquee said I don't have the original fonts and automatically started changing everything (on a 45minute edit) to "times new roman" and didn't give me a choice to not do that. On top of that, I don't remember the original font used and I can't seem to find anywhere where it tells me what it was so I can add the font to my mac. Does anyone know how to

1) find the name of the original font in Marquee without screwing up the original edit

2) get an option to NOT change the fonts to the default on marquee

Media Composer crashes after applying a shadow.

When I apply a shadow in a matte key o in a 3d title, if I slide the progress bar over the title in the timeline, image freezes and Avid stops working. Sometimes I get this error:

Excepcion: Unable to stop spring buffer's fillthread.

Besides when I create a title in Marquee and I apply a shadow, in some letters the shadows dissapear randomly.

I reinstalled Avid, but I get the same error. ¿Could this be that the graphic card is not working properly?

I got an Adrenaline, with Media Composer 2.8 Windows XP Pro an my graphic Card is a Nvidia Quadro FX 1500.
