1 When I try to type directly some text on the composite window, FX crashes

2 I can't use the Open GL interactor, because as I try to move an object using the interactors, it starts to shake and it's impossible to control

3 the titles in avid fx, when exported to Avid timeline, don't seem to be keyed out correctly and change the video levels of the tracks below

I'm using the 5.8 version and all of this things happen both working in standalone and plugin mode

What to do? Any suggestion? Any patch? Buy me AE?

Thank you

After a lot of searching I found Particle Illusion.
Last week I read on Creative Cow's website that the relatively unknown Particle Illusion was to be exhibited at NAB 2009.
So, I felt that this tutorial might be of extra interest to anyone looking for a compositing programme with an easy learning slope....

The article on Creative Cow's forum is to be found HERE!

AE is still out of reach for me, but I find that Avid FX is more than enough for the simple effects I need in my editing style and needs
With the exception of errupting volcanoes!.

However I sometimes felt that newcomers like myself needed a much more basic approach to many of the things that were being taken for granted.

The first 20 or so tutorials were specifically made to help migrants from Avid/Pinnacle Liquid. However, many of those contain tips that can be useful to any newcomers.

The two main points that I have learned since arriving here are:

1. Media Composer has many, many ways of achieving a given result. My tutorials usually show only 1 of them. Be flexible and experiment for yourself. Nothing is set in stone.

2. If you are coming from a different NLE family, try and leave your old workflows behind you.
Don't try and figure out how to emulate them in MC.
The sooner you begin to accept the MC way, the sooner you will get up to speed and discover its flexibility.
It took me only 14 days before I completely stopped using Liquid.

SEE ALL THE TUTORIALS HERE on the MEDIA COMPOSER - PC FORUM

The tutorial page is, as the title above says, "Expanding".
Please drop in every now and then to see what has been added!

Hope you find something useful.
