if Avid were a normal company and didn't have Marianna it could have been a much more painful process
without Marianna?... without Marianna!!!?... definately a much more painful process! how can they not give this person a RAISE??? She IS Avid pain reduction. Of course, Menno is Avid Charm!!! Just contemplate

yeah Andrew- Suggested list price* for this model (U.S. Dollars): $2,550.00 ! There's another one on there for $1,995 but still that's pretty pricey when a blu-ray burner is like $50... It's weird but thanks everyone for the info- I looked and looked and couldn't even find ONE- anywhere. Would save some time, though for some things.
-
I've been very surprised that there seems to be no stand-alone DVD Recorder that will record at Hi-Def... (at least I can't find one) Blu-Ray burners are a dime a dozen if you don't mind waiting for an encode in the puter- but if you want to just crash record a little- direct to disc like I used to with a regular DVD Recorder at SD- there

I don't think that Avid supports ASIO generic devices at all. I asked an Avid rep at an Avid presentation when Avid will support 3rd party ASIO or 3rd party control surfaces and he said "when our competition does". There was no sense in telling him that they already do- have for a long time! Avid makes fine software, but I wouldn't

yeah and the really weird thing is that today it's instant "select and drag" to timeline- no problem, no marking clips, no script view, just super easy just like I thought it was supposed to do in the first place. ???. As if the app has learned what I was asking it to do... wtf? So bizarre! And also when I accidentally selected a seq in
-
I think the problem was that the reverse selection in the bin was including the seq and wouldn't allow anything to be dragged into the timeline. Some of the problem is the flaky selection in the Avid app within the bin. There's no cntrl+lasso to select or deselect on multiple passes when the script view is too big to lasso all you want at once
-
well that was obviously the right idea! don't work, though! All the clips now ARE marked, they drag to the source mon as marked. Drag easily as normal to the timeline from the source mon one at a time! But not as a bunch... nor from the bin... hmmm.... Well I've tried it 30 ways and still doesn't work- think I'll just do 'em one
-
mmm- yes... marking the clips... in the bin... duh! I bet that's it. dude you're AWESOME. Obviously the clips must be MARKED! How could that never even cross my mind when in the bin...? I will try- Thanks very much! Always a beer for you in my world! thank you- Ev

yeah exactly- tried that (alt-drag) and cntrl-drag, to the record mon and to the timeline, checked different input-routing- enable-ings, and still it just won't stay on the timeline! Checked several other pages of options- also looked throught the help. Just can't seem to select a bunch of jpegs in the bin and drag them to the timeline or record

Hey Andrew- nice to hear from you again! That was the first thing I tried... the drag outline just vanishes- I've tried several other different ways too... no love. I'm in XPro 5.1.6. Any clue?
