  • NEED HELP - Glitch Installing Avid Media Composer 8

Hello! Thank you for any insight you can share.... I've worked in Avid MC on my laptop for years, and I just inherited a very powerful desktop computer that used to have MC 6.5 installed on it in the past. Today, I successfully did a clean-install of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Service Pack 1 on it in order to load Avid 8.3.1. I then downloaded

  • Re: EXPORTING A LONG HD PROJECT - HELP

Thank you usatraveler!! Unfortunately, I'm running the LE version of 5.5, so I don't have Sorenson with this set-up. I am going to play around with exporting projects as QT Reference files in the future when I upgrade to 7. It sounds like that will be the way to go. Thank you SO MUCH for all your help and the time you took to write. I really appreciate it. Your suggestion of H.264 worked great! I brought the 80-minute file down to 1.25-ish GB, and it will burn onto a DVD for both delivering the project AND if I want to burn a DVD to watch. Thank you!!!

  • NEED HELP Importing Canon 5D Mark iii footage into MC 5.5.1

I run Media Composer v.5.5.1 on my DELL laptop (running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit). The program installed fine and seems to work well. I recently bought a Canon 5D Mark iii and shot some great footage. It is recorded at 1080/30p in IPB (interframe) compression, using the H.264 codec, as .MOV files. When I import my these .MOV files into MC, they won't

  • Cannot Capture Video - HELP! - Avid Media Composer 5 PC

I just installed the Media Composer 5.0 onto my DELL laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The program installed fine and seems to work, but... I then connected my Canon XH-A1S HD camera via firewire, installed the Windows drivers, rebooted the system and then launched Media Composer 5.0. I started a new project, opened the Capture Window and was
