  • Curious Issue Exporting AAF...

A friend of mine ran into an issue when trying to export an AAF (embedded or consolidate to folder) the other day and it told her this below... "Destination for consolidated, transcoded, mixed-down, or copied audio media is not currently available [!vgroup->IsAvailable()] Please select vaild (online) media destinations" I have attached

  • Re: Quick question about GPU usage...

No, that's exactly what I want to do, but I don't seem to having the "qualifed gpu" text file in my Avid MC folder unfortunately. That's why I was curious if that list was missing from my install or if Avid had removed it with the newer versions of MC. I was on MC 6 for quite awhile and only recently moved to MC 8 so not sure if

  • Quick question about GPU usage...

I've read many posts on the board in ref to people constantly asking about graphics cards and etc to see if they work for Avid. They are usually told to look at the qualified gpu list in the config folder to find that information. I know some people alter that file to do it, which isn't something I could do as I'm too paranoid, but when

  • Re: Potential VFX Export Info?

I did one test so far and they tell me that it should be just fine, so looks like this will work quite well. Thanks.

  • Re: Potential VFX Export Info?

Oh that's great news, I will be going that route then for sure as I can then export the QT with a TC layer for them and it will be small, awesome. Thanks for the reply

  • Potential VFX Export Info?

I was wondering does anyone know if it is possible to have footage in your "project master" timeline with your projects correct timecode and etc, but then move some of that footage to a different sequence, but reference the "project master" timeline's timecode. That way when I send them a quicktime to reference it isn't say

  • Curious About MC 8.8.4...

This forum has been quite the resource for information as I recently kept butting heads with the "Exception: Movie export from procedures FAILED!, errcode:4294965262" issue on my MC 8.6.1. I believe I read on some posts (but I could be wrong) that this issue wasn't really Avid, it was Mavericks, but was wondering if perhaps the update

  • Re: 5.5.1 MC will not load

Uninstalling did make Media Composer work so that's nice. However, when I went to look for posts on here about deauthorizing and etc people said that even if you forget, just uninstalling it will deauthorize it based on the MC that I had... not the case at all as not it says "node locked" which defeats the point. After trying to register

  • Re: 5.5.1 MC will not load

Hello there Tom, thanks for the reply. I don't hear any disc noise, but they are SSD with programs only so I don't know if there is a tell tale sign or etc if the drive is going crazy. All the other programs seem to work though so I would hope not. Do you perhaps know if I can deauthorize the program on Avid's website? I'm not sure how

  • Re: 5.5.1 MC will not load

I looked at the comments section of the error I posted above and for some reason it isn't even recognizing a version of my media composer. If I use the uninstall feature in finder, will that unistall everything so I don't have to root around for it? Then just bust back out my discs and reinstall? Again thanks for any help in advance. Process
