Randall: Okay, downloaded and installed the AMA Plugin per your link (thanks) but when I try to "Link to AMA file(s)" I get an error saying Avid is "Unable to link to file or volume" and that I "...may need to download & install the AMA plug-in from the Avid AMA website. See Console for more information." Initially

Thanks. Will try right away. Tom

Folks: As always, thanks for the great forum and whatever help you might provide. Here's my issue today - I recently purchased a Sony NX70U HD camcorder which stores files in AVCHD format. One minor issue is that it seems to record in bursts of a few minutes, so if I'm recording an interview it saves for let's say three minutes then breaks

Folks: Hi and thanks for the great forum. Here's my initial question on the new Avid Media Composer versions - I'm currently running MC 5.0.3. My tech rep at the place I bought the NX70U said that MC6 will work natively with AVCHD... Anyone know if this is true? If so, wouldn't it be better to just upgade to v6? Tom

Amazing-looking stuff but, as you all are thinking right now, Avid doesn't deal with AVCHD files. These forums (fora?) here sugegst that there's no way to directly import the

Larry - Thanks for the rapid reply. I have made certain the folders are named that and are ONLY root. Will delete the msm files and see if that helps, thanks. I notice that one of my Avid MediaFiles folders has a subfolder named "2" (no quotes, but it has this AND the subfolder "1"). I don't recall that I ever created this myself

Folks: I'm running Media Composer 5.0.3 on a Dell Quad-Core 3.0 MHz system with 8GB RAM and Windows 7 Pro. I edit a series of training videos and we were working on a new one (call it NEW VIDEO). These videos repeat a lot of the same info and sequences, so we use a good deal of archived media, too (call this ARCHIVED MEDIA - clever, huh?). So, I'm
