  • Re: Windows 10 Creator - Is OK for MC 8.8

I have upgraded 4 systems already, but after the upgrade I had to reinstall the IntelPro Network drivers and on top of this, fresh install of the Nexis/ISIS ClientManager. The Upgrade installed an old driver (dated 11/2016) not working with the 6.1 Client. I disabled the driver update feature on all systems (nvidia driver trouble) but the update seems

  • Re: MC 8.8 Source Browser unbearably slow

The source browser itself is a nice addition, but the scanning should get a toggle or some kind of "brain" to remember already scanned mediafiles. I mean you can let the SB scan the directory, change the plugin and scanning begins again for every file.... this takes up so much time. Secondly, after testing again (edited my previous post) on

Hi @all, ALT-dragging is a good workaround, but you won't get it running if you're using "special" codecs like the XAVC-I100 from the FS7 for example. ALT-dragging is using the MSP_MXF Plugin and not the nablet XAVC. If you then try to consolidate, the system crashes. Tried on an 8.8 Symphony and I can reproduce it. Today I will test

I got 4 HP Z800 running fine @MC 8.8, but we are on Win10 and with 32GB RAM, so i don't know if it is running fine on Win7 with less than 16GB.

  • Re: Hardware acceleration options for Media Composer 8.3

Hi Luc, i'm not the hardware specialist, but the nitris is not discontinued. At the Moment they are called NitrisDX and MojoDX. Both performing great up to MC 8.4. EOL are the Adrenaline and MojoSDI. Your Performance could be enhanced by using a faster workstation. We have 5 Z800 (32GB, dual Xeon, quadro fx4800) and 1 Z420. The Performance difference

  • Re: What's the Best Way to Copy Video from One Track to Another?

Hi BobbyMurcerFan, both ways are working, but there is a faster Solution for this. On the C key you have mapped (by default) the "copy to clipboard" command. If you're using alt-C then you get a copy directly in the Source-Monitor without an additional command. So simply mark the segment you want with In-Out and then alt-c, et voila! You

  • Re: quicktime reference file transcode failed

Hi dxf, like Marianna said, a bit more information would be great. But i think you don't have a XDCam-Codec installed (e.g. calibrated{Q}) on your maschine. Sorenson has no built-in XDCam-codec. Maybe procoder (which we don't use) has a library. Sorenson can't encode XDCam-QT-Refs without a proper XDCam-Codec-Package. XDCam is a commercial

  • Re: What should be the project setting for 5D Mark III Full HD H.264 MOV clips in Avid MC 4.0.3

Hi Sam, first of all, i think the mp4 from the Canon 5D Mark III is always a progressive source. That's the reason why Canon build the C300, with all broadcast standards and recording in MXFs. To your question: Set the project to 1080p and take the DNxHD Codec. Always try to get your project settings in line with your files. mp4 = 1080/50i ->

  • Re: Unable to bring XDCam clip back into MC after exporting to Sony PDW-U2?

Hi Jon, ok, you (your client) is unsure about the output and wants to check it after printing. 1. You can't do bad mistakes when you're printing to XDCam Devices. Make sure the right Quality (Codec) is choosen and that's it. Nothing more to say. (Make sure you're on the recent driver and firmware of your U1/2!) 2. If you're with
