• Re: When did they kill legacy link P2?

I'm not sure about that, cause as I said, the XDcam/P2 legacy feature was broken a few versions ago. I know that 8.9, 8.9.1 and 8.9.2 were already broken, so you have to downgrade to a 8.8.x version, if you rely on the legacy import. But from my point of view, linking and transcoding/consolidating is way faster than legacy import when the media

  • Re: Renders disappear between suites

Have you checked the user access privileges in the ISIS console for that drive and user? (read/write acces) Same project settings in both studios? (eg 50i vs 25p) And just to be sure: the renderfiles are there on that drive? you can see them (explorer/finder) in the mediafiles-folder on that drive? They are not accidently rendered local or on external

  • Re: When did they kill legacy link P2?

P2 in the Link-Settings disappeared in 8.9.3. I think it has to do with the broken XDCam legacy import which was broken a few version ago and was fixed in 8.9.3. You're wrong with "not downloading any plugin". You have to keep them up to date yourself. MC tells you if a installed plugin is not supported anymore at startup. However, the

  • Re: HEVC

HEVC can't be linked in MC at the moment. We are on 8.9.3 with the latest update to the GenericPlugin and it is still not possible. However, Squeeze11 can do the job as stated one post earlier. I tested the Link with a HEVC created with Squeeze11Pro. Avid console outputs the right codec but there is no plugin for it. so long & thx dbiok

Thanks marianna, i will go through this with the support. But i think it is a bug (see down below)
Enable legacy XDCAM enabled. Enable legacy P2 disabled
Thanks Andrew, that is the solution. Only one of the two option enabeld and it works as usual. But, how should someone know to only activate one of the

  • MC8.9 - XDCam Legacy Import broken (?)

Hi there, i have discovered that the XDCam legacy import is not working as in previous releases. At the moment (reproduced on 4 systems) if you set the legacy import on, you can not import XDcam anymore. You get the disclabel field at the bottom but when you press import -> "You can not import MXF to the bin. Use AMA...." When you turn

  • Re: 4K Camera Recommendations?
For those using XAVC-S, you don't have to transcode. XAVC-S can be rewrapped into a ,MOV file. It's considerably faster (hundreds of frames per second). I use Convert V4/Dali's Mustache (yes, that's the new name for it) all the time. I rewrap directly from the card to a hard drive, and link that. And since

  • Re: 4K Camera Recommendations?

AS7 is a pain.... But it is not the camera, it is simply the XAVC- S codec which is not supported by the nablet plugins. Going through the Sony Catalyst, converting the files, loosing a lot of time....

  • Re: 4K Camera Recommendations?

We are daily working with a lot of footage from FS7, FS5, F5, etc... No problem as long as it is in Sony's XAVC-I (100). It is a consolidate process, going in really fast and we have no problems during editing on our ISIS. The only downside is, when it comes to encoding outside of MC. It is the same as with XDCam. XAVC, XDCam, etc are all commercial
