• Re: "Relink to file(s)" greyed out.

Does the Avid File Information (can't remember the exact menu text) list the file path for one these clips, and if so can you recreate that path? I just wonder what Avid will do if it finds the file at the last known location when it launches.
Use the "std" way. Create a new bin. AMAlink files into that new bin. Clips should relink. trash that bin.
A similar method that I use: In the bin with the Linked Master Clip(s) that is offline (dang Windows drive letters in a shared environment), Alt Drag the offline file into the bin and the
The same applies to same-as-source ProRes, AFAIK. Although QT player may always play those back with stretched levels.
QT Player does respect the Legal / Full setting of QT SaS ProRes export, expanding the Full setting only.
That's because when you export Same As Source, DNxHD QT's always stay legal _internally_, but are flagged to expand luminance levels when playing back in QT Player.
This is exactly what I see. Linked in Avid they both (Legal and Full) come back legal. In QT Player the Full encode is expanded.
if I export one mixdown as Legal Range and one as Full range and link them both back in Avid they both are within legal range.
For me, Custom export Scale to Full with the compressor set 709 Links back to Avid with full RGB levels (0-1024). When I select Compressor RGB setting the exports Link back to Avid

Bryan, How are you looking at the levels of the QT exports you have done? Also what version of MC are you running? QuickTime Same as Source - Keep Legal should give you exactly what you have in your Avid. A quick export test on MC2018.12 of a 75% Color Bar with 100% White and 0 Black with pluge gives me just that. I am Linking the file back to Avid
Try linking then exporting it out as Same As Source (use Avid codec). Relink. Curious if that fixes it.
This is an interesting idea. I don't have the BMD files but I tried it with ProRes (on MAC). If Avid has assigned the generic codec (Link in 2018.12) it will not export SAS, saying there are no
