  • Re: Export from AE = Stutter in MC 3.5

WEll, just my luck guys, i had a hard drive issue about a month ago and now it appears to be another one. The drive i was exporting to from AE seems to be acting up. When i removed the file and brought it into another drive then imported it into Avid agaom it plays perfectly. Go figure. Thanks again.

  • Export from AE = Stutter in MC 3.5

Hey guys. I export to After effects from Avid like i usually do using a QT ref. After applying the effects i send it back to Avid with the standard "Lossless" setting. This is usually never an issue. *(Recently i installed Red Giants "Looks" and "Colorista".) Then i started work on a music video and used the same process

  • Re: Anyone have client monitor ideas?

Thanks guys, Not what i wanted to hear but exactly what i needed to. Im just a poor independant filmmaker that cant spend anything more than 2k right now. So, i will just outsource the colour correction to a post production facility than can do the job right. Thanks everyone. Marc

Thanks Larry. i should probably carlify what i need though... I have a small office where my setup is. I currently have a 30" SD CRT tv. It is not connected to my Avid. Right now im just doing fullscreen playbacks on my monitors. The Samsung UN46B8000 is well out of my range. What i wanted to know is, what are my best options as far as color correction

  • Anyone have client monitor ideas?

I have a couple of OK monitors to do my editing on. I dont have any problems with them, But i would like to feel secure that my color corrections are done as true as possible. I wanted to know if anyone had some suggestions for me on how to go about looking for a client monitor that could give me the most accurate color. Do i get an lcd monitor? Do

Thanks for the add info jwrl. For some reason my SMART software as well as windows XP tools tell me that all my drives are healthy. So i unstriped the HDD's like Gen_fail suggested. I reformatted them and tried using both as my avid mediafiles import drive. 1 worked and the other didnt. So i found my problem. It was one faulty drive. Im gonna keep

After the reinstall, i was still stuck with sluggish video playback. I figured the only thing it could be at this point was the hard drive. Even though my computer is showing that it has perfect health. So i did a batch import and set the destination drive to a different drive and bingo. It started working perfectly. Im glad its working but it also

No Prob Carl. your absolutely right anyways. It's important to learn this stuff. Were not dealing with MS Word here. Avid is a powerful tool that is an essential part of my career, and probably that of many others on this forum. And i tried your suggestion, unfortunately it didnt work for me either. I will do the unistall and let you know how it

Thanks Carl, I have never defragmented my Media drive before, but i felt this casw was different bewcause it was showing up that my HD had much more info on it than it really did. So i thought that might have been part of the problem. I wouldnt have done it otherwise. And yes i agree, i will spend the time to gain the knowledge i need to better understand

Guys, youve all been wicked in helping me get through my issues on this forum. Big time thanks. Just to clarify, i have a software RAID0. @jwrl: Currently, building a RAID5 array isnt an option for me either. Somehow it seems that my drive was backed up with ghost files. When i went to defrag, it told me that im using 550G of space on that media drive
