  • Re: HVR-Z5P in 1080/25p No Input signal present when capturing

Hi Leo Usually I edit my 25p footage in 1080i (interlaced) projects. I have some suggestions for you, maybe one them can you solve your problem. The first one is quite basic, but has happened to me!!! Create a 1080i projects and select the correct raster ( HDV 1440X1080 ) In the capture window, see if the resolution parameter is set to 1080i MXF ; sometimes

  • Re: Playing XDCAM EX HD files in a 25i Project

Does it appear blurry? Not with artifacts but looking defocused? I´ve had similar issue while working with ex files in sd. I have some projects with mixed resolutions; I usually edit in HD, then through the format tab, change for performing an SD digital cut, Ex files look awful, with a soft focus of some sort. Should I perform a transcode to

  • Re: Tearing playback

Just to exlclude this option, try re-installing your graphic card driver. One of my system´s setup is similar to yours. It´s the only thing I´ve found that works besides disabling desktop compositing. And you are right, many "unsupported" cards work flawlewssly, the puzzle comes with managing behaviours related to drivers

  • Re: Filter out a hard drive?

Perhaps you can try going to the Media Creation settings on the project window and assign the drive (s) you need for the several purposes (capture, mixdown, render etc...). Choose which drives you want to perform the different functions or apply one single drive to carry all the operations just making sure your graphics FW400 drive is not checked in

  • Re: Set up new monitors - now no Full Screen Playback

Did you by any chance updated graphic card driver to the latest release? I have a Quadro card and once I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers, kept the same monitor and suddenly fullscreen playback disappeared. I rolled back to previous driver and FSP functioned again, see if it´s also your case. When it comes to stability and compatibility, the

  • Re: Capturing Error; Avid Assertion Failed

Tj, I cannot zoom on your pictures to read the error message correctly. The only cause given by Avid Knowledge Base for that behavior is having a clip with more than 63!!! characters long, which I assume...is not the case. Sverkalo, I always see your comments when HDV capturing errors are posted. I too own a HV30 (wonderful camera) and luckily for me

  • P2 clips from Focus drives to MC - Manual Workflow without AMA

Following the suggestion from Marianna at Avid , I moved this post concerning operation workflow and Focus Firestore Drives , to the tips and tutorials section. Hope it can be useful. "There is a production company where I usually work on some projects. Most of the times we use Focus FS-5 , which is a breeze when it comes to performance and compatibility

  • Re: Mirror image effect?

g_f descripition demonstrates all the power of the army knife called 3DWARP . Glad you could achieve it. However, in case you should perform this on several clips, you can also try this: If you have Boris BCC - Usually ships with MC - open effect palette , go to BCC Real Time category and apply the BCC Fast Flipper RT . Open effect editor and where

  • Re: Adding Graphics to a rolling title?

I suggest -if you have that possibility- that you import your logos with alpha channel. Probably you know this already, but anyway, suppose you have a rounded logo, you can go to photoshop or similar - paint.net is free - use the magic wand, select the logo area and delete the surrounding background. Export it as TGA with alpha. Import into Avid checking
